Why aren’t Cape Elizabeth and Falmouth dealing with the homeless crisis? They have tons of money and wood lots for tents or small houses. Shouldn’t the city of Portland request financial assistance and help with living space from surrounding communities? Portland should not own this.
I’d be willing to help transport some of the homeless to Cape Elizabeth. And I’d provide the tent and essentials. Pond Cove Shopping Center has lots of services. There’s lots of wooded land all along Route 77. And the money at the intersection of Route 77 and Shore Road would be decent. Let the residents of Cape Elizabeth look these people in the eye.
