Nicholas Centofanti was taken by LifeFlight to Maine Medical Center with critical injuries after a crash on June 7 in Casco, but has since died of his injuries, according to the Cumberland County Sheriff’s Office. Police did not say when he died.

Excessive speed and failure to maintain control of the vehicle appear to be factors in the crash, which remains under investigation, according to the sheriff’s office.
The sheriff’s office says it will not release specific details about the cars involved in and witnesses to the crash until the investigation is complete.
