To anyone who thinks female impersonators are corrupting our youth (and, in fact, anyone who needs a good laugh), I say: Please go to YouTube and find “Dame Edna.”
Created by the recently deceased Australian entertainer Barry Humphries, Dame Edna brought gales of laughter to Aussies, as well as audiences in sold-out shows all over the world. Yes. Female impersonators are doing what they are meant to do: entertain and bring laughter and joy to a serious world.
