Andrew Elcock hit a sacrifice fly to drive in Luke Longo in the bottom of the ninth inning as the New Jersey Institute of Technology beat Maine, 5-4, in an America East baseball game on Saturday in Union, New Jersey.

Longo walked to lead off the ninth for NJIT (20-28, 9-11 America East) and moved to third on a double by Ray Ortiz.

Jake Rainess hit a three-run double in the eighth inning as Maine (25-19, 15-5) rallied to tie the game, 4-4.

COLBY, BOWDOIN ELIMINATED: Despite home runs from Brady O’Brien and Cole Palmeri, Colby (25-12) was knocked out of the NESCAC tournament with a 12-6 loss to Middlebury, which advanced to Sunday’s championship game against Tufts in Waterville.

Earlier, Ethan Hillenberg was 4 for 6 with five RBI and scored twice as Colby won 14-7 against Bowdoin (18-16) in an elimination game.

Ryan Grace was 3 for 6 with a home run and a double, drove in four runs and scored three times. Grace had a two-run homer in the third inning, then a two-run double in the eighth to break a 7-7 tie.

Hillenberg added a three-run double in the eighth, when the Mules scored six times.

Stephen Simoes had a solo home run and a sacrifice fly for Bowdoin.

SOFTBALL

TUFTS 12, COLBY 4: The top-seeded Jumbos (37-3) scores six runs in the top of the fourth and beat the fourth-seeded Mules (24-14) in an elimination game in the NESCAC tournament in Medford, Massachusetts.

Chloe Wilcox had two hits, including a solo home run, and scored twice for Colby. Logan Luebbe also homered, while Carissa Cassidy and Jackie Hill each added two hits.

Kaitlyn Perucci had three hits, including a three-run home run for Tufts.

WILLIAMS 2, BATES 1: Adhya Tandon hit a solo home run in the second inning to give the third-seeded Ephs (21-15) the win over the seventh-seeded Bobcats (16-17-1) in the NESCAC tournament in Medford, Massachusetts.

Williams advances to face No. 1 Tufts for the conference championship on Sunday.

The Ephs took a 1-0 lead in the first on an RBI double by Sydney Fleming. Bates tied it in the bottom of the inning when Sarah Cooke walked with the bases loaded.

COLBY 5, BOWDOIN 4: Chloe Wilcox was 3 for 4, including a two-run home run and a double, as the No. 4 Mules (20-15) beat the No. 5 Polar Bears (19-20) in the NESCAC tournament in Medford, Massachusetts.

Amanda Cabral added two hits and two RBI for Colby, while Brenna Forbes and Logan Luebbe each added a double.

Angelina Mayers had two RBI for Bowdoin.
