Singer-songwriter Dar Williams has been releasing albums since the early ’90s, and her latest is 2021’s poignant “I’ll Meet You Here.” Williams has also written several books, including “What I Found in a Thousand Towns,” which features Maine. Her live shows are always a mix of light-hearted banter interwoven with heart-rending songs about things like the environment, gun control, love and life.

Innovative guitarist Kaki King is celebrating the release of her 2003 debut album “Everybody Loves You” with a show that will include several songs from it. King will also unpack tales of what the process of making the album was like and the impact it had on her then-budding career.  All told, King has released nine albums, some all instrumental and some with vocals. The live show will be spellbinding.

Bach Birthday Bash

Head to Merrill Auditorium to celebrate the birthday of German composer Johann Sebastian Bach. Portland municipal organist James Kennerley will dazzle your ears on the historic Kotzschmar organ with the music that has delighted audiences since the 1600s. Bach was born on March 21, 1685, and his musical contributions are still revered. Hear for yourself on Saturday.
