BIDDEFORD — Police have announced the arrest of a man from El Salvador who has been charged with sexually assaulting 13- and 14-year-old girls on Feb. 6 in Biddeford.
Adin A. Moreira Cisneros, 31, was arrested on outstanding York County Superior Court warrants charging felony gross sexual assault, Biddeford Police posted in a news release on the department’s social media page.
A search warrant for scene evidence and to locate Cisneros was executed at an address on Main Street, police said.
Biddeford Police and members of the United States Marshals Service — Maine Violent Offender Task Force worked together on the case. The violent crimes task force is made up of deputy United States Marshals, Biddeford Police, Maine State Police, Maine Department of Corrections, U.S. Department of Homeland Security ICE and Border Patrol. The Biddeford Police Department is also a partner agency with the U.S. Department of Homeland Security Investigations.
The Biddeford Police news release posting said notification has been made to the U.S. Department of Homeland Security Immigration and Customs Enforcement. Cisneros has previously been deported for illegally being in the United States, according to the release.
Cisneros is being held in lieu of $50,000 cash bail at York County Jail pending arraignment, the news release, issued Thursday afternoon, Feb. 9, stated.
People charged with crimes are presumed innocent until proven guilty in court.
