Alexandra Portas scored 17 points, including 10 in the fourth quarter, to lead Gray-New Gloucester to a 43-35 win over Wells in a clash of top Western Maine Conference girls’ basketball teams Thursday night in Gray.

Ella Kenney added 10 points and Isabelle Morelli had six for Gray-New Gloucester (10-2), which is ranked fourth in Class A South.

Megyn Mertens led Wells (10-2) with 17 points. Maren Maxon scored nine. The Warriors, ranked third in Class B South, had a six-game winning streak stopped.

BONNY EAGLE 46, NOBLE 15: Kaitlyn Bartash scored 10 points to lead a balanced attack for the Scots (6-6) against the Knights (0-11) in North Berwick.

Sophia Gaudiano had eight points, Ember Hastings finished with seven and Madelyn Violette added six for Bonny Eagle, which made eight 3-pointers and had nine players with at least a basket.

Ashley Merchant led Noble with six points.

GARDINER 68, LINCOLN ACADEMY 26: Lizzy Gruber’s triple-double led the Tigers (12-0) to a victory over the Eagles (3-8) in Newcastle.

Gruber scored 22 points, pulled down 10 rebounds and had 10 steals. Savannah Brown scored eight points for Gardiner, which led 33-10 at halftime. Eleven Tigers entered the scoring column.

Mariam DeLisle scored 11 points for Lincoln.

BOYS’ BASKETBALL

THORNTON ACADEMY 63, NOBLE 54: Will Davies scored 25 points to lead the Golden Trojans (11-1) over the Knights (4-7) in Saco.
Braden Camire added 13 points.

Thornton trailed 18-11 after one quarter but took control with a 36-21 edge over the middle quarters.

Noble was led by Jamier Rose with 20 points and Jayden Dameron with 11.

LINCOLN ACADEMY 63, GARDINER 43: Gabriel Hagar made five 3-pointers and scored 22 points for the Eagles (7-4), who opened with an 18-9 run against the Tigers (1-12) in Gardiner.

Lucas Houghton added 10 points.

Zach Kristan paced Gardiner with 18 points.

VINALHAVEN 59, PINE TREE ACADEMY 37: Aiden Hoffses scored 29 points and Trey Goodrich added 14 as the Vikings (3-4) handled the Breakers (0-6) in Freeport.

Silas Yeaton led Pine Tree with 15 points, followed by Colby Solberg with 10.
