Inflation is literally the price we are paying for protecting democracy while trying to save our planet. Unfortunately, the poor, the disadvantaged and those of color are the ones who suffer the most, as always.
During World War II, there were shortages of many goods, food and fuel were rationed, people raised victory gardens and women went to work to replace the drafted men who fought for our freedom. The sacrifices were great. Everyone that was in a position to contributed.
A power-crazed lunatic (does that sound familiar?) is trying to wipe out democracy in Ukraine. Do you think he will stop there? Europeans know better and so should we.
So, inflation, as painful as it is, may not be the worst thing that can happen to us. We should give that a lot of thought.
