A Sanford man was killed Monday morning when his car collided with a pickup truck near the intersection of School Street and Alfred Road in Sanford.
The victim was identified as 29-year-old Samuel Hammond, who was driving a 2011 Volkswagen Jetta when he struck a 2020 Dodge Ram 3500 around 8 a.m., Sanford police said in a statement.
Rescue workers responded, but he was pronounced dead at the scene.
Police did not identify the driver of the truck, who was not injured. The crash remains under investigation.
