The Cape Elizabeth Land Trust is accepting artist submissions for the organizations’ 15th annual Paint for Preservation wet paint auction.
From July 15-17, selected artists will create outdoor paintings at designated locations in Cape Elizabeth. On July 17, the artwork will be auctioned off, with a portion of the proceeds benefitting the land trust’s conservation efforts of Cape Elizabeth’s shores, marshes, farmlands and woodlands.
Artists are asked to submit three images of original outdoor paintings in any medium. Thirty artists will be selected.
The deadline for submissions is March 18. For more information, including how to submit artwork, visit capelandtrust.org.

We believe it's important to offer commenting on certain stories as a benefit to our readers. At its best, our comments sections can be a productive platform for readers to engage with our journalism, offer thoughts on coverage and issues, and drive conversation in a respectful, solutions-based way. It's a form of open discourse that can be useful to our community, public officials, journalists and others.
We do not enable comments on everything — exceptions include most crime stories, and coverage involving personal tragedy or sensitive issues that invite personal attacks instead of thoughtful discussion.
