Maeve Kelly hit a 3-pointer with 3 seconds to play as Cheverus edged Windham 42-41 Tuesday night in girls’ basketball.
Lillian Singleton had 15 points for Cheverus (10-1) and Emma Lizzotte added nine.
Carly Morey led Windham (9-4) with 16 points and Sarah Talon chipped in with 10.
GORHAM 47, BONNY EAGLE 39: Nicole Walker and Anna Nelson hit two free throws each in the final 1:35 as Gorham (12-1), leading by four points, shook off Bonny Eagle (5-7) at Standish.
Nelson, who finished with 20 points, hit three of her six 3-pointers in the first quarter as the Rams opened a 14-8 lead on the way to a 25-17 halftime advantage.
Kaitlyn Bartash had 12 of her 19 points in the third quarter to keep the Scots within distance.
NORTH YARMOUTH ACADEMY 40, FREEPORT 37: Freshman Athena Gee’s third 3-pointer of the night, with 2:15 remaining, lifted the Panthers (8-1) over the visiting Falcons (3-8).
The Falcons had erased a nine-point deficit and went ahead 37-35 on two free throws from Isabelle Orlando, but the Panthers tied it on a jumper from Angel Huntsman, then Huntsman set up Gee for the winner.
Orlando missed a potential tying 3 just before the buzzer.
Freeport was paced by 16 points and 16 rebounds from Mason Baker-Schlendering.
Madilyn Onorato led NYA with 12 points. Gee had nine, Graca Bila eight and Huntsman seven.
BIDDEFORD 53, WESTBROOK 31: Biddeford (4-7), using an effective zone press defense, took control in the first half and swept past the Blue Blazes (3-8) at Westbrook.
Forcing numerous turnovers with the 1-2-2 press, the Tigers led 14-7 after the first quarter and 27-12 at halftime.
Chantelle Bouchard led Biddeford with 20 points; Alexis Libby added 14. Leah Cromarty led Westbrook with nine points.
SCARBOROUGH 33, SOUTH PORTLAND 28: Lindsay Fiorillo had nine points to lead a balanced offense for the Red Storm (8-3) as they topped the Red Riots (3-10) at South Portland.
Ruth Boles had 14 points to lead South Portland.
MASSABESIC 65, KENNEBUNK 28: Micaela Jacobs scored 12 of her 15 points in the first quarter as the Mustangs (10-3) opened with a 22-9 lead and cruised past the Rams (0-8) at Waterboro.
Lydia Desrochers hit three 3-pointers and finished with 14 points for Massabesic, and Mary Duffy tossed in 11.
Skylar Holder led Kennebunk with 15 points.
GREELY 68, POLAND 32: Sophia Ippolito scored 20 points and Asja Kelman added 18 as the Rangers (8-2) handled the Knights (3-8) at Cumberland.
THORNTON ACADEMY 63, SANFORD 57: Addisen Sulikowski scored 18 points for the Trojans (9-4), who rallied in the second half against the Spartans (3-8) in Sanford.
Hannah Cook added 14 points, and Jess Dow and Mikenzie Melendez each finished with 13 points for the Trojans, who outscored Sanford 43-31 in the second half after trailing 26-20 at halftime.
Julissa McBarron hd 16 points, Riley Hebler added 15 points and Libby Alexander finished with 10 for Sanford.
WELLS 77, FRYEBURG ACADEMY 20: Grace Ramsdell scored 36 points as the Warriors (12-0) won easily against the Raiders (3-6) in Fryeburg.
Ramdsell scored 15 in the first quarter when Wells went ahead 23-2, then scored 10 more in the second to help Wells to a 44-9 lead at halftime.
Maren Maxon finished with 10 points for Wells. Brook Emery had 10 points to lead the Raiders.
SEACOAST CHRISTIAN 38, ST. DOMINIC 37: Breckyn Winship led the Guardians (5-3) with 15 points in a win over the Saints (3-6) in Auburn.
Ellie Leech added 11 points in the win.
Jessie Zimmerman scored a game-high 19 points for St. Dom’s.
MARSHWOOD 45, NOBLE 41: Daniella Aceto had all of her eight points and Sophie Mitchell added a pair of 3-pointers in the third quarter as the Hawks (2-7) rallied to overcome a nine-point halftime deficit and top the Knights (1-11) at South Berwick.
Mitchell had 18 points to pace Marshwood.
Emily Clark had 12 points, including three baskets from behind the arc, for Noble, with Olivia Howard chipping in with 11 points.
CARRABEC 65, BOOTHBAY 24: Cheyenne Cahill scored a game-high 27 points to lift the Cobras (8-1) over the Seahawks (0-7) at North Anson.
Lindsay Hamilton added 14 points for Carrabec.
MT. ARARAT 55, MORSE 38: Morgan Ruff scored 16 points and Elsa Daulerio added 13 as the Eagles (8-5) handled the Shipbuilders (3-5) in Topsham.
Danielle Bryant had nine points, and Dakota Shipley and Maddy Werner chipped in seven apiece for Morse.
