Maine’s Donavan Villeneuve-Houle scored the tying goal late in the second period as the Black Bears played to a 1-1 tie against Vermont in a Hockey East game in Orono.
Dovar Tinling scored in the first period and Gabe Carrier made 50 saves for Vermont (3-9-2, 2-4-2), which picked up an extra point in the Hockey East standings by winning a shootout.
Maine goalie Matthew Thiessen had 16 saves.
UNE 6, WESTERN NEW ENGLAND 1: The Nor’easters (7-1-1, 6-1-1 Commonwealth Coast) took a three-goal lead in the first period on the way to a win over the Golden Bears (4-7-0, 2-6-0) in West Springfield, Mass.
Aaron Aragon led UNE with two goals. Jared Christy, Jake Fuss, Ryan Kuzmich and Daniel Winslow each scored once, and Billy Girard IV made 23 saves.
COLBY 3, BOWDOIN 1: Jake Klein, Jack Sullivan and Justin Grillo scored and Andy Beran made 16 saves as the Mules (2-2, 1-1 NESCAC) defeated the Polar Bears (0-4-1, 0-2) in Waterville.
Ethan Kimball tallied Bowdoin’s goal. Alex Kozic stopped 30 shots.
WOMEN’S BASKETBALL
DREXEL 57, MAINE 33: Keishana Washington dropped in 25 points, and the Dragons (6-2) beat the Black Bears (2-6) at Cross Insurance Center in Bangor.
Anne Simon led Maine with 10 points and seven rebounds. Maeve Carroll finished with eight points and 12 rebounds.
BATES 79, CLARK 45: Morgan Kennedy scored 20 points and Davina Kabantu added 12 as the Bobcats (6-1) routed the Cougars (5-4) for their fourth straight victory, at Lewiston.
Ariana Dalia chipped in with 10 points. Meghan Graff had seven points and seven rebounds.
BOWDOIN 65, COLBY 44: Callie Godfrey scored 14 points and the Polar Bears (8-1) stifled the Mules (6-1) in Brunswick.
Keagan Dunbar led Colby with 13 points.
SOUTHERN MAINE 59, KEENE STATE 43: Michelle Rowe had 24 points and seven rebounds to lead the Huskies (1-6) past the Owls (3-4) at Keene, New Hampshire.
Amy Fleming scored nine points, and Victoria Harris added eight points and six rebounds.
ST. JOSEPH’S 75, ALBERTUS MAGNUS 50: Cassandra Stapelfeld scored 17 points and had five rebounds, four assists and one block as the Monks (5-1) cruised past the Falcons (0-5) at Standish.
Grace Philippon and Jayne Howe tallied 15 points apiece. Howe also grabbed 10 rebounds and Philippon had eight. Kaleigh Walsh added 10 points and nine rebounds.
UNE 98, NICHOLS 71: Allie Goodman scored 22 points on 9-for-10 shooting, leading the Nor’easters (5-4, 3-0 Commonwealth Coast) past the Bison (4-4, 0-1) at Dudley, Massachusetts.
Jordyn Franzen added 19 points and Kaylee Baylor had 18 for UNE, which led 51-27 at halftime.
MEN’S BASKETBALL
COLUMBIA 77, MAINE 66: Geronimo Rubio De La Rosa tied his career best with 24 points as the Lions (3-6) defeated the Black Bears (2-5) in New York.
Patrick Harding had 15 points and 17 rebounds as Columbia broke a four-game losing streak. Liam Murphy added 12 points, and Eddie Turner III had six assists.
Vukasin Masic paced Maine 15 points. Maks Klanjscek scored 11 points and LeChaun DuHart had 10.
ALBERTUS MAGNUS 85, ST. JOSEPH’S 73: Tyreek Perkins had 28 points and eight rebounds, and Justice Washington added 18 points and 14 rebounds as the Falcons (3-1, 1-0 GNAC) defeated the Monks (1-7, 0-1) in Standish.
Nicholas Curtis scored 25 points for St. Joseph’s. Griffin Foley finished with 17.
KEENE STATE 101, SOUTHERN MAINE 53: Nate Siow had 22 points, five assists and four steals, and the Owls (6-1, 1-0 Little East) jumped out to a 56-16 halftime lead in a win over the Huskies (5-4, 0-1) in Keene, New Hampshire.
Cody Hawes led USM with 12 points and nine rebound. Marcus Christopher scored 10 points.
NICHOLS 88, UNE 65: Jason O’Regan scored 21 points and Jaekwon Spencer added 20 as the Bison (6-0) defeated the Nor’easters (1-8) in Dudley, Mass.
Ric Castillo led UNE with 15 points and seven rebounds.
SOUTHERN MAINE CC 79, MASS BAY CC 57: Cameren Cousins scored 16 points and grabbed 10 rebounds to power the Seawolves (6-2) past the Buccaneers (3-4) at South Portland.
Thomas Martinotti chipped in with 13 points. Bode Meader added 10.
WOMEN’S HOCKEY
BOSTON COLLEGE 2, MAINE 1: Kelly Browne’s goal 2:18 into overtime gave the Eagles (10-7-1, 8-4-0 Hockey East) a win over the Black Bears (6-12-1, 4-7-1) at Orono.
Alyssa Wruble scored for Maine, assisted by Kennedy Little and Mira Seregely. Loryn Porter made 25 saves for the Black Bears.
BOWDOIN 2, COLBY 0: Julia Sergenor scored both goals and Nina Prunter made 21 saves as the Polar Bears (3-3, 1-3 NESCAC) shut out the Mules (4-1, 3-1) in Waterville.
Colby’s Dani Marquez stopped 29 shots.
SOUTHERN MAINE 3, NEW ENGLAND COLLEGE 0: Ellie Fredenburg recorded 19 saves and Zoe Solomons, Georgie Snow and Ally Stymiest scored a goal apiece as the Huskies (6-0, 5-3 NEHC) blanked the Pilgrims (2-7, 0-6) in Gorham.
Sean D’urso made 51 saves for New England College.
WESTERN NEW ENGLAND 3, UNE 2: Alyssa Murphy scored two goals and Natalie Parker had one as the Golden Bears (4-4-1, 2-4 Commonwealth Coast) erased a 2-0 first-period deficit to beat the Nor’easters (3-7, 3-5) in Biddeford.
Avery Lutrzykowski and Bella Crugnale each scored for UNE.
