Gaetan Davis of Portland has been chosen as the new executive director of the Maine Democratic Party.
Davis, a Maine native, will replace Lisa Roberts, who has been executive director since 2019.
“The party has dynamic leaders, tremendous staff, and dedicated volunteers in communities across Maine. We could not be better positioned to continue delivering for Maine’s working families,” Davis said in statement.
Davis was a regional field director for the Maine Senate Democratic Campaign Committee, helping to secure wins in legislative races. She also was a member of Congressman Jared Golden’s Washington, D.C., staff, and most recently served as the Maine finance director for Speaker Sara Gideon’s run for U.S. Senate, where she helped to set new state fundraising records.

We believe it's important to offer commenting on certain stories as a benefit to our readers. At its best, our comments sections can be a productive platform for readers to engage with our journalism, offer thoughts on coverage and issues, and drive conversation in a respectful, solutions-based way. It's a form of open discourse that can be useful to our community, public officials, journalists and others.
We do not enable comments on everything — exceptions include most crime stories, and coverage involving personal tragedy or sensitive issues that invite personal attacks instead of thoughtful discussion.
