Caroline Lerch scored four times en route to notching her 100th career goal as Portland/Deering topped Biddeford 7-2 in girls’ hockey Wednesday night at Troubh Ice Arena in Portland.
Mia Merrill added two goals for Portland/Deering and Lauren Gerber scored once. Anna Gagnon and Caitlin Huynh combined for 15 saves in goal.
Lily Clough scored both goals for Biddeford, with Savannah Barreras assisting on one. Goalie Kelsie Keely made 39 saves.
ST. DOMINIC 3, MT. ARARAT/LISBON/MORSE 2: Taryn Cloutier scored two goals to lead the Saints past Mt. Ararat/Lisbon/Morse at the Norway Savings Bank Arena in Auburn.
Gigi Ouelette added a first-period goal for the Saints, and Hadi Boulet made 21 saves.
Sarah Moore and Allie Hunter scored for the Eagles; Greta Marchond stopped 12 shots.
GIRLS’ BASKETBALL
OCEANSIDE 70, BOOTHBAY 48: Audrey Mackie made seven 3-pointers and finished with 25 points, and the Mariners overcame a 32-point night by Glory Blethen to defeat the Seahawks (1-4) in Rockland.
Anna Kingsbury added 15 points, all on 3-pointers, and Grace Woodman scored 10 for Oceanside.
EDWARD LITTLE 50, POLAND 26: The Knights dropped their season opener at home against the Red Eddies (1-1).
Jenny Chaput scored 21 points in her freshman debut for Edward Little.
WELLS 55, YORK 50: Grace Ramsdell dropped in 22 points to lead the Warriors past the Wildcats at home in Wells.
Mallory Aromando added 12 points and Grace Boucher had 10 for Wells. Ruby McMinis scored seven points.
Emily Rainforth led York with 14 points with Ava Giacobba following with 11 of her own.
THORNTON ACADEMY 66, BIDDEFORD 38: Jessica Dow led a balanced offense with 18 points as the Golden Trojans defeated the Tigers in Saco.
Grace Tardiff scored 13 points for Biddeford.
BOYS’ HOCKEY
LEWISTON 7, FALMOUTH 3: Damon Bossie completed a hat trick with two goals in the second half as the Blue Devils (2-0) defeated the Yachtsmen (0-1) in Lewiston.
Falmouth trailed 4-0 early in the second half before getting goals from Nick Fischetto, Xavier Grenier and Mitchell Ham to close within 5-3.
