The Tri City Community Chorus, with music director Wes Raines, proudly present a spring concert: “All We Are” Saturday June 8, at 7 p.m. To be held at First Parish Church, 12 Beach St., Saco.
Music feeds the spirit. The audience feels refreshed and inspired listening to the musical excellence of the chorus. (I wish I was gifted with a beautiful voice. I marvel at the sounds I hear. I cannot carry a tune, however I love to listen. Music puts me in a happy mood.)
Directors use valuable techniques for breaking through creative ground enriching its members by enhancing their knowledge and practice of music. The members come together as a community choir making beautiful music for the glory and service itself. They dip their souls into their music aligning their activity. Featured will be Vivalde’s “Gloria,” “Flight Song” by Kim Andre Arnesen and “Caledonice” by Dougie McLean.
The chorus has been making joyful sounds since 1998. The 2018-2019 season is sponsored by Saco & Biddeford Savings Instituting and Biddeford Bank. Tickets can be purchased from chorus members, Community Pharmacy on Main Street in Saco; and at Hannaford on Elm Street in Biddeford.
Adults: $10 (in advance); $12 (at door), Children 6 to 12: $5. Ages 5 and under are free.

The group finds joy and great fun as they gain a fresh, in-depth perspective of the zodiac. Fran welcomes us to the wonderful and intriguing world of learning about ourselves. Having taught astrology, she can use this discipline to enter deeply into this fascinating and complicated arena, drawing on the wisdom of ancient cultures.
There is a new surge of interest in astrology. This causes us to open our minds and think differently. Would you like to know more about your characteristic and have a clearer understanding of your friend’s and family’s personality? A study of this science is based on the belief that the sun, the moon and planets profoundly affect earth, humans, animals and plants.
As I prepared to write my column I imagined a beautiful world of peace. I imagined a new media filled with stories of love for a united and healthy world. A world of understanding tolerance, patience and respect. Life is precious, and we need treasure the basic goodness and hope in our community.
The Dalai said, “Peace will not come from the sky.” We have to build a peaceful culture beginning with our thoughts, and in our homes, schools, workplace and community.
