BANGOR — A trial is about to get underway this week for a man charged in the deaths of two homeless people found inside a burning truck in Bangor.
Jury selection was to begin Monday in the trial of John De St. Croix in Superior Court.
The victims, 43-year-old Michael Bridges and 36-year-old Desiree York, were found dead in the back of the burning truck nearly a year ago.
Court documents indicate De St. Croix told authorities he’d been drinking with the victims in the hours before the pair were found dead.
Authorities say De St. Croix is the one who called 911, and that he confessed to setting the fire.
De St. Croix, who pleaded not guilty, faces 25 years to life in prison if convicted.
