A motorcyclist who was injured Saturday morning after losing control of his bike in Gray died Thursday at a Lewiston hospital from complications associated with the crash.
Danny Chouinard, 56, of Norway died at Central Maine Medical Center, Capt. Scott Stewart of the Cumberland County Sheriff’s Office said in a news release Thursday.
According to Stewart, Chouinard was braking his 2005 Yamaha V-star motorcycle on Route 26, near its intersection with North Raymond Road, when he lost control. His bike fell to the ground and slid along the road, and Chouinard was thrown off.
“Chouinard was treated and transported by Gray Emergency Medical Services from the scene to Central Maine Medical Center with no apparent life threatening injuries,” Stewart said in the release.
Investigators said Chouinard was wearing a helmet when he crashed and his motorcycle sustained minimal damage.
Saturday’s crash happened at 9:14 a.m. on Route 26, which is known as Shaker Road in Gray. No other information regarding Chouinard’s stay in the hospital was provided.
