FARMINGTON — An Industry man is accused of giving marijuana to his teenage son, and the man’s girlfriend is accused of calling the juvenile and asking him to change his testimony, Franklin County Sheriff Scott Nichols Sr. said.

Franklin County Deputy Bradley Scovil received information from Farmington Police Officer Bridgette Gilbert on Tuesday that a juvenile at Mt. Blue High School in Farmington had been receiving marijuana from his father on a regular basis, Nichols said in a statement.

An investigation led to the arrest of Jason Hawkins, 37, of Industry, who was charged with aggravated furnishing of a scheduled drug to a minor, a felony, Nichols said. A conviction on the drug charge is punishable by up to five years in prison and a fine of up to $5,000.

Information Scovil received after Hawkins’ arrest led to a subsequent investigation that resulted in the arrest of his girlfriend, Eileen Patrick, 34, of Industry. She has been charged with tampering with a witness, Nichols said.

Both were taken to the Franklin County Detention Center.

Hawkins was released after posting $500 bail Tuesday and Patrick was released Wednesday on $1,500 cash bail.
