Summers in Maine are special. For three months, we get the opportunity to enjoy the beauty of the state in temperatures that actually encourage us to get outside. And with the incredible number of activity options the good weather provides, summer camps are a great way to get the most out of the season.
Whether you’re an athlete looking to seriously improve your skills or a person interested in something fun to do with friends, summer camps can meet your needs. Under the direction and tutelage of dedicated and friendly staff members, your experience will be active and fulfilling, no matter your age, ability or interests.
Camps provide not only the physical benefits of exercise, but social ones as well. They give us the chance to meet and interact with people we wouldn’t get to otherwise. They provide a safe and positive environment for each and every camper to take some chances and get out of their comfort zones.
Who knows? Maybe we end up making a friend we wouldn’t have otherwise, or even discovering a passion we didn’t know existed. The best part of any camp is seeing those sparks of interest light into flame.
At St. Peter’s Grand Slam Tennis, founded in 1989, we’ve seen countless kids discover or pursue a love of the sport. Our summer tennis camps are fun, yet challenging and instructional. They cater to boys and girls ages 8 to 18, at all skill levels. Most camps are taught by certified teaching pros and college tennis players, at a number of locations (including Portland) from Yarmouth to Biddeford.
Summer is a special time, and Maine is a special place. We are exceedingly fortunate to have its resources (tennis courts included!) at our doorstep, and summer camps are an easy and fun way to take advantage of the best the state has to offer. We hope you make your summer memorable by getting active, getting involved, and making the most of it!
