NAPLES — Chandler True scored 14 points Thursday night to lead Lake Region to a 44-40 victory against Yarmouth in a Western Maine Conference girls’ basketball game.
Lauren Jakobs added nine points for Lake Region (9-3), which held on after opening a 23-15 halftime lead.
Sara D’Appolonia had 18 points, Clementine Blaschke 13 and Margaret McNeil added nine to account for the scoring for the Clippers (5-7).
MEDOMAK VALLEY 56, MORSE 26: Gabby Depatsy scored 12 of her game-high 23 points in the first quarter, hitting four 3-pointers as the Panthers (9-2) rolled past the Shipbuilders (2-10) at Bath.
Sadie Cohen added 13 points for Medomak, which took a 38-20 lead at halftime.
Sierra Wallace scored 12 points for Morse.
BOOTHBAY REGION 64, OAK HILL 46: Faith Blethen had 25 points, including three 3-pointers, and Page Brown added 20 points as the Seahawks (12-0) defeated the Raiders (8-4) at Wales.
Boothbay led 22-11 after one quarter and 40-19 by halftime.
Desirae Dumais had 14 points, including four 3-pointers, and Sara Moring added 11 points (three 3-pointers) for the Raiders.
GRAY-NEW GLOUCESTER 39, WELLS 36: Alexa Thayer scored six of her 10 points down the stretch as the Patriots (9-2) held off Wells (5-6) at Gray.
Jordan Grant also scored 10 for Gray-New Gloucester. Mackenzie Foss paced the Warriors with 11 points, including 10 as Wells outscored the Patriots 20-16 in the second half.
OLD ORCHARD BEACH 57, HYDE 14: Emily Greenlee scored a game-high 11 points as the Seagulls (8-2) rolled past the Phoenix (2-5) at Old Orchard Beach.
Shani Plante scored nine points and Samantha Donnell added eight for Old Orchard, which led 36-5 at halftime.
BOYS’ BASKETBALL
BIDDEFORD 51, SANFORD 37: DeSean Cromwell scored 16 points and Cody Saucier added 10 to lead Biddeford (6-3) past the Spartans (2-9) at Sanford.
Matt Romano scored 10 for Sanford.
Kyle Norton hit a 3-pointer and a 2-pointer in the first quarter as the Tigers opened a 17-9 lead. Biddeford stretched the lead to 30-18 by the half.
HAMPDEN ACADEMY 74, CAMDEN HILLS 49: Bryce Lausier drained a pair of 3-pointers among his eight second-period points as Hampden Academy (11-1) used a 21-4 run to open a 34-19 halftime lead against the Windjammers (7-4) at Rockport.
Ian McIntyre led the Broncos with 20 points. Thomas Raye added 15, Kory Winch 14 and Lausier 11. Noah Heidorn led Camden Hills with 10 points.
BOOTHBAY REGION 52, OAK HILL 43: Kyle Ames scored 14 of his game-high 20 points in the first half, Hunter Crocker finished with 15 points and 10 rebounds, and the Seahawks (8-4) used a big third quarter to get by the Raiders (5-7) at Boothbay Harbor.
RICHMOND 79, WISCASSET 46: Zach Small scored a game-high 38 points to lead the Bobcats (10-2) over Wiscasset (0-13) at Richmond.
BOYS’ HOCKEY
THORNTON ACADEMY 2, PORTLAND/DEERING 1: Reagan Wintle shot through a crowd after Owen Dubois drew the puck back to him off a faceoff, scoring 8:29 into the third period as Thornton Academy (5-4) downed the Bulldogs (4-4-2) at Portland.
Portland/Deering took a 1-0 lead 6:24 into the second when Cam King scored from Jake Luce on a power play. Wintle converted a Dubois’ assist to tie it two minutes later.
