FALMOUTH

Fiddle-icious, an open community fiddle-based orchestra led by Don Roy, will begin its 14th concert season this weekend in Topsham.

Fiddle-icious is a non-profit, all volunteer orchestra with members from Kittery to Augusta. Fiddleicious musicians play fiddle, piano, harp, guitar, banjo, accordion, cello, tin whistle, concertina and upright bass. Their tunes are passed on from the Irish, Scottish, Quebecois and Acadian traditions and include reels, jigs, marches, hornpipes, waltzes, step-dancing and singing.

Director Roy is a designated Master Fiddler from Gorham. Keeping the heartbeat of the group even and steady on piano is Don’s wife and musical partner, Cindy Roy. Both grew up in French-Canadian families, where music was an integral part of their lives. They continue to share their knowledge, foster community, and provide a place for musicians and audiences alike to take part in the spirit of the old fashioned kitchen party, keeping the musical heritage alive for future generations.

CDs will be available for purchase at each performance location, all of which are listed to the right.
