York County sheriff’s deputies arrested Jacob Poirier, 25, after they were called to 13 Country Way in Lyman about 7:30 p.m. Monday for reports of a stabbing, the sheriff’s office said in a statement.

The victim, who was not identified, fled to a neighbor’s residence and called 911. Poirier fled from officers into the street, where they used a Taser to subdue him. He was briefly taken to a hospital before officers booked him into York County Jail in Alfred.

The victim was treated for significant stab wounds to her arms, the sheriff’s office said.
