A South Portland woman pleaded guilty Friday to stealing mail containing checks and a credit card.

Norma J. Duhamel, 71, entered the plea in U.S. District Court in Portland.

According to court documents, Duhamel stole mail from residents in Cumberland between August and October of 2016. Officials said she cashed about $1,125 worth of stolen checks and charged about $105 on the credit card.

She faces up to five years in prison, a fine of up to $250,000 and three years of supervised release. She will be sentenced at a later date.
