AUBURN — Mack Pelletier scored three goals, including two late in the third period, to lead fourth-seeded St. Dominic to a 4-1 victory against fifth-ranked Poland/Leavitt/Oak Hill/Gray-New Gloucester in a Class A North boys’ hockey quarterfinal Tuesday night at the Norway Savings Bank Arena.
The Saints (9-10) will play at top-ranked Lewiston (17-1) in the semifinals Saturday.
Pelletier and Sam Blaisdell had power-play goals as St. Dominic grabbed a 2-0 lead in the first period.
Austin Taylor brought Leavitt (11-7-1) within 2-1 with a power-play goal midway through the second before Pelletier scored with 1:37 remaining in the game, then added an empty-netter in the final seconds.
OLD TOWN/ORONO 3, CAMDEN HILLS 2: Gabe Talon scored in overtime as the second-seeded Coyotes (15-2-2) beat the seventh-ranked Windjammers (4-13-2) in a Class B North quarterfinal at Orono.
Old Town will play third-seeded Brewer (12-6-1) in the semifinals Saturday.
Jack Morse scored on a power play at 11:11 of the second period for Camden Hills to tie the game.
Talon’s winner came 2:21 into overtime from Jacob Dubay.
HAMPDEN ACADEMY 3, HOULTON/HODGDON/SOUTHERN AROOSTOOK/KATAHDIN 0: The fourth-seeded Broncos (14-5) took a 2-0 lead in the first period and cruised past the fifth-ranked Shiretowners (9-9-1) in a Class B North quarterfinal at Brewer.
Hampden will be at top-ranked Waterville (17-1) in the semifinals Saturday.
Cooper Leland set up Joey McLain for the first goal at 4:08 and added an unassisted goal at 9:15.
Mark Thibodeau scored from Sam Economy after 3:14 of the second.
CONY/HALL-DALE/MONMOUTH 8, EDWARD LITTLE 4: Reid Hopkins scored three consecutive goals as the third-seeded Rams (14-5) handled the sixth-ranked Red Eddies (5-14) in a Class A North quarterfinal at Hallowell.
The Rams will face second-seeded Bangor (12-7) in a semifinal Saturday at Lewiston.
Avery Pomerleau added three goals for Cony. Cam Wilson also scored.
