LEWISTON — Marcus Cady scored the winning goal in the third period as the Falmouth boys’ hockey team rallied from a two-goal deficit to beat Lewiston in a Class A boys’ hockey game Monday.
Jeromey Rancourt and Alex Rivet scored in the second period as Lewiston (8-1) took a 2-0 lead. Theo Hembre got Falmouth (7-0-1) within a goal late in the second period.
Hembre scored again in the third period to tie the game, before Cady scored the winning goal on a rebound of a shot by Reece Armitage.
Lewiston goalie Jacob Straut recorded 19 saves. Spencer Pierce stopped 48 shots for Falmouth.
YORK 6, PORTLAND/DEERING 3: Andrew Bertolini scored twice as the Wildcats (7-1) beat the Bulldogs (6-2) in Dover, New Hampshire.
The Wildcats closed the game with five straight goals to earn the win.
GORHAM 4, BRUNSWICK 3: Carter Landry scored with 3:54 left in the third period to complete a hat trick and lift the Rams (4-6) over the Dragons (2-7-1) at the University of Southern Maine in Gorham.
Landry also scored to tie the game with 5:23 remaining.
Mike Eno scored two goals for Brunswick.
Brunswick goalie Riley Kirk recorded 22 saves. Noah Bird stopped 25 shots for Gorham.
SOUTH PORTLAND/FREEPORT/WAYNFLETE 2, WINDHAM/WESTBROOK 0: The Red Riots (4-5-1) scored twice in the second period and defeated the Blue Blazes (3-6) at the University of Southern Maine Ice Arena in Gorham.
Gus Lappin and Owen Patrick each scored for the Red Riots.
Windham goalie Sean White recorded 33 saves. Joe Grant stopped 20 shots for South Portland.
BASKETBALL
FALMOUTH 63, KENNEBUNK 54: Colin Coyne had 19 points and went 9 for 9 from the foul line in the fourth quarter as the Yachtsmen (10-2) beat the Rams (4-8) in Kennebunk.
Jack Bryant had 17 points for the Yachtsmen, and Michael Simonds added 15 points.
Zack Sullivan scored 20 points for Kennebunk.
WESTBROOK 49, BONNY EAGLE 32: The Blue Blazes (9-3) used a 16-8 run in the second quarter to steadily pull away from the Scots (3-8) at Westbrook. Nemieceo Loureiro had 19 points for Westbrook. Zac Manoogian added 14 points.
William Hendrix led Bonny Eagle with 11 points, and Connor Sirois chipped in eight points.
GORHAM 44, SCARBOROUGH 38: Jason Komulainen’s 14 points led the Rams (3-8) past the Red Storm (1-11) in Scarborough.
Nick Fiorillo had 12 points for Scarborough.
GREELY 72, FRYEBURG ACADEMY 41: Ryan Twitchell scored 16 points to lift the Rangers (11-0) by the Raiders (7-4) in Cumberland.
Jordan Bagshaw added 13 points for Greely. Cody Gullikson lead Fryeburg with 11 points.
TRAIP 58, POLAND 55: Angelo Succi scored 18 points and Charlie Driscoll had 14 to lead the Rangers (5-7) past the Knights (3-9) in Kittery.
Nate Chouinard scored 26 points for the Knights. Caleb Hodgkin added 12.
WINDHAM 67, SANFORD 60: Mike Gilman scored 31 points for the Eagles (8-3) as they held off the Spartans (4-7) at Sanford.
Nick Curtis added 20 points for Windham.
Brad Bouchard had 17 points for Sanford. Matt Romano chipped in 16 points and Ethan Belanger added 11.
SEACOAST CHRISTIAN 54, VINALHAVEN 42: Marlon Bernardo scored six points in the second quarter and eight in the third as the Guardians (6-5) beat the Vikings (5-7) in South Berwick.
Caleb La Croix and Sky Archer scored 11 each for Seacoast Christian.
FREEPORT 47, OLD ORCHARD BEACH 44: Ethan Sclar scored 12 points and Connor Dostie had 11 to lead the Falcons (3-7) to a victory over the Seagulls (5-5) at Freeport.
Ian Regan had 15 points for Old Orchard Beach.
MARSHWOOD 67, BIDDEFORD 64: Dawson Casey’s 3-pointer was the difference as the Hawks (5-6) broke away in the fourth to beat the Tigers (5-6) in South Berwick.
Casey finished with 23 points. Cole McDaniel added 19 points and Benjamin Beers 16 for Marshwood.
Kyle Norton scored 25 points and DeSean Cromwell had 15 for the Tigers.
LAKE REGION 45, WAYNFLETE 37: Tyler Walker and True Meyers each had eight points in the second half as the Lakers (5-6) pulled away from the Flyers (8-2) in Poland.
Walker finished with 14 points for the Lakers, and Meyers added 10 points.
Yai Deng scored 10 points for Waynflete.
WINTHROP 59, BOOTHBAY 45: The Ramblers (12-0) hit 12 of 14 free throws in the fourth quarter on their way to a win over the Seahawks (6-6) in Boothbay Harbor.
Jacob Hickey scored 24 points for Winthrop.
Kyle Ames scored 20 points for Boothbay.
