Cabot Mill Antiques will be celebrating 20 years in business with 20 percent off storewide discounts this Saturday and Sunday. This festive event will include refreshments, presentations, door prizes and gift certificates.
Located in restored historic Fort Andross on the Androscoggin River at 14 Maine St. in Brunswick, the antique mall is conveniently located close to restaurants, Bowdoin College, museums, art studios, shopping, lodging and the Amtrak station.
Cabot Mill Antiques — an antique lover’s heaven — offers a unique shopping experience. The multi-dealer antique emporium boasts more than 160 displays in its 16,000-square-foot showroom, making it one of the largest antiques facilities in northern New England. Offering special educational, appraisal and sales events, it is a true destination shop.
Cabot Mill Antiques has a vast array of merchandise with a price range for anyone’s budget. From period furnishings to vintage collectibles, jewelry, rare books, art, textiles, nautical items, furniture, rugs, clocks, quilts, glassware, ironstone, pottery and ceramics as well as a variety of items in other categories.
Independent appraiser Bruce Buxton will be offering free appraisals from 1-3:30 p.m. on both days, with pre-registration required.
Betsey Telford-Goodwin, one of the foremost authorities on antique quilt restoration techniques, will be presenting the “Sociology and History of the early New England Quilt 1780 to 1890” on Saturday, from 10:30 a.m. to noon.
The Guild of Extraordinary Gentlewomen will present tea dueling on Saturday, from noon to 1 p.m.
Scott Hanson, an architectural historian, will give an hour-long presentation of Cabot Mill/Fort Andross, followed by a walking tour of the facility, on Sunday. (Tour times start at 10:30 a.m. and 12:30 p.m. and pre-registration on the day is required. Limited spots will be available for walking tours.)
Cabot Mill Antiques is handicapped accessible and all major credit cards and personal checks are accepted. The antique mall is open daily, from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., and on Friday, 10 a.m. to 7 p.m.
