Two people are facing drug charges after an investigation into an influx of heroin in Washington County.
Police say Sharley Fitzsimmons, 51, and Jennifer Wallace, 35, face multiple charges after 50 grams of heroin, 40 grams of powdered cocaine and 8 grams of crack cocaine were seized from their home in Lubec.
Agents from the MDEA’s Downeast Task Force, along with Washington County deputies, state troopers and Pleasant Point police, raided the home last week after a months-long investigation and found eight people inside. A woman who ran out the back door was apprehended with a bag of drugs, police said. The woman was later identified as Wallace.
Police said the street value of the drugs seized from the home was $15,000. Investigators also found $4,750 in suspected drug proceeds.
Fitzsimmons and Wallace were each charged with Class A aggravated trafficking in Schedule W drugs (heroin/cocaine). Because of his declining health, Fitzsimmons was issued a summons and not arrested. Wallace was taken to the Washington County Jail, where bail was set at $1,000.
