GORHAM — Sarah Michaud scored in the 65th minute Wednesday as the University of Southern Maine beat Salem State 2-1 in a nonconference women’s soccer game.
Analies Ross-Dyjak scored with six seconds left in the half to give the Huskies (3-2) a 1-0 lead. Allison Celia of Salem State (0-5) tied it in the 60th minute.
Michaud’s goal was assisted by Adela Kalilwa.
Amanda Backe recorded six saves for USM. Taylor Canastra had two for the Vikings.
COLBY 3, THOMAS 0: Laura Arnold, Katherine Senechal and Jillian Fleischer scored for Colby (2-1) against visiting Thomas (0-5) at Waterville.
Sam Rizzo made two saves to record the shutout. Paige Leary had 12 saves for the Terriers.
FIELD HOCKEY
UMAINE-FARMINGTON 4, SOUTHERN MAINE 0: Carly Raymond scored two goals to lead the Beavers (4-0) past the Huskies (3-3) at Farmington.
The Beavers took a 3-0 lead into halftime on goals by Raymond, Emmah Spahr and Nickyia Lovejoy.
Raymond scored her second goal in the 47th minute from Andrea Stemm.
BOWDOIN 3, BATES 0: Kimmy Ganong scored twice for Bowdoin (3-0, 2-0 NESCAC), the top-ranked team in the country, in a win over the Bobcats (1-1, 1-1) at Brunswick.
Clara Belitz of Bowdoin had two saves. Alyssa Souza finished with three for Bates.
GORDON 1, ST. JOSEPH’S 0: Emily Allcroft’s goal less than four minutes before the half stood up as Gordon (3-2) slipped past the Monks (1-2) in a game at Portland.
Sabrina Jandreau assisted on the goal.
MEN’S SOCCER
BATES 1, UNIVERSITY OF NEW ENGLAND 1: Matt DiVite scored for Bates (2-1-1) and Dan Good for the Nor’easters (1-2-2) at Biddeford.
Good scored the first goal, heading home a cross from the right corner by Callum Heaslewood after 20:32. Dexter Doucet also assisted on the goal.
DiVite tied it on a header with four minutes left in regulation. Eric Opoku and Justin Vacovino assisted.
