Gorham police charged a 37-year-old Portland man with trafficking in heroin after he was reported by motorists to be driving erratically on Route 25 on Wednesday.

Officers found Zik D. Danquah in a 2009 Nissan Altima about 1:15 p.m. in a business parking lot on Route 25. Passing motorists said Danquah had driven into a ditch before pulling over in the lot, where he also struck a parked car.

Gorham police and Maine Drug Enforcement agents found 5.9 grams of heroin and $1,118 in cash. He was charged with trafficking in scheduled drugs, violating bail conditions and operating under the influence.

He is expected to be arraigned in a Portland court Friday at 1 p.m., police said.
