SEDGWICK – Maine State Police say alcohol was a factor in a crash early Sunday morning that sent three people to the hospital – two of them by Lifeflight.
Authorities say the car driven by Olivia Perkins, 21, of Penobscot, went out of control while traveling from Route 15 to Route 176 in Sedgwick and struck a flatbed trailer parked in a driveway before vaulting into a tree.
Perkins was trapped in the driver’s seat and had to be extricated. Two passengers – Torey Slaven, 22, of Surry, and Philip Graceffa, 30, of Brooksville – were thrown from the Jeep Wrangler.
Police say the crash happened just before 1 a.m. Sunday.
The investigation is continuing.
