BRUNSWICK — Jerry Meinhardt of Gallery Framing in Brunswick was recently recognized as a successful veteran-owned small business that has received U.S. Small Business Administration assistance through a guaranteed loan with Bangor Savings Bank.

“We are really grateful to Jerry for his service to our country and are proud we have supported another successful small business here in Maine,” the SBA stated in an email. “This event underscored the sacrifices our veterans make, and the steps the SBA is taking to assist those who want to become entrepreneurs.

“Specifically, we have what is called the Patriot Express Loan Program, and a new initiative called the ‘Veterans Pledge,’ in which the SBA is seeking to increase loans to veterans by 5 percent per year over the next five years. In Maine, Bangor Savings Bank has signed the pledge,” the SBA statement concluded.

Gallery Framing is located at 11 Pleasant St. in Brunswick.
