WASHINGTON — The National Academy of Elder Law Attorneys (NAELA) recently announced that Jacqueline Sartoris of Brunswick is the recipient of the 2013 NAELA Young/New Attorneys Section Scholarship.
The scholarship was established in 2010 as a means to encourage newer NAELA members to attend a national conference.
“My NAELA membership gives me access to the information and contacts that I need to serve my clients thoughtfully as a new attorney. You learn a lot in law school, but after law school, a highly regarded organization in your practice area, such as NAELA, is essential,” Sartoris said.
Sartoris received her B.A. from the University of Pennsylvania and graduated cum laude from the Maine School of Law in 2010 where she was the recipient of the National
Association of Women Lawyers Award. She is a former town councilor with seven years of service who served on numerous boards and committees in Brunswick. She is also a former senior planner for the Maine State Planning Office.

We believe it's important to offer commenting on certain stories as a benefit to our readers. At its best, our comments sections can be a productive platform for readers to engage with our journalism, offer thoughts on coverage and issues, and drive conversation in a respectful, solutions-based way. It's a form of open discourse that can be useful to our community, public officials, journalists and others.
We do not enable comments on everything — exceptions include most crime stories, and coverage involving personal tragedy or sensitive issues that invite personal attacks instead of thoughtful discussion.
