PORTLAND — Twelve finalists, including Now You’re Cooking in Bath, with support from customers, employees and family, will come together on May 13 for the Maine Family Business Awards at the Marriott Hotel in South Portland.
Open to the public, reservations can be made for the reception, dinner and awards, starting at 6 p.m., by calling 797-7130 or going to www.fambusiness.org. The cost is $75 per person.
Hosted by the Institute for Family- Owned Business, in partnership with the law firm Verrill Dana, the awards showcase outstanding family businesses whose strategies, practices and values impact the community.
The finalists are Agren Appliance & Television, Auburn; Butterfield Technologies, Portland; Central Street Farmhouse, Bangor; Close Buy Catalog, Portland; D. Cole Jewelers, Portland; Elizabeth Moss Galleries, Falmouth; Hannan’s Electric, South Portland; Karkos Group, Lewiston; Now You’re Cooking; The Maine Sportsman, Augusta; The Wolak Group, Falmouth; and Wizbe Innovations, Manchester.
Awards categories are Morong Falmouth for large companies (25-plus employees), Maddy Corson for fewer than 25 employees, Customer Service, First Generation and Innovation, a new award. All finalists are eligible for the Shep Lee Award for community service.
