BRUNSWICK – Zach Danssaert scored the game-winning goal in the 84th minute of a men’s soccer game to lift the Polar Bears over Bates during NESCAC play in Brunswick.

Andrew Jones of Bowdoin (5-1, 2-1) centered a perfect low pass to Danssaert, who flicked it inside the left post with 5:38 to go.

The Bobcats (2-3-1, 0-3-1) took a 1-0 lead with 12:31 remaining in the first half when John Murphy got his head on a ball as he collided with Bowdoin goaltender Will Wise.

Eric Goitia converted a penalty kick for a Bowdoin two minutes before the half.

Wise had five saves while Zach Shabman had four for Bates.

UNE 1, LYNDON STATE 0: Junior Kyle McGlone scored with just 2:08 left to give the Nor’easters (4-5) a win over Lyndon State (2-6) at Biddeford.

Aiden McParland finished with five saves for UNE.

WOMEN’S SOCCER

UMF 2, USM 0: Freshman midfielder Meryl Bond scored in the 77th minute to give the University of Maine-Farmington the lead over Southern Maine, as the Beavers (5-3-0) beat the Huskies (1-8) at Farmington.

The Beavers (5-3-0) added a goal by junior Kayla Tuttle.

BOWDOIN 1, UNIVERSITY OF NEW ENGLAND 0: Toni DeCampo scored the game’s only goal just before halftime as Bowdoin (5-1-0) held off the University of New England (3-7-0) at Brunswick.

ST. JOSEPH’S 11, ANNA MARIA 0: Lauren Chouinard scored three times to lead nine different goal scorers in the Monks’ (4-2-1) rout of Anna Maria (1-8) in Standish.

Jaci Lorenzen got her fourth shutout for the Monks.

FIELD HOCKEY

ENDICOTT 3, ST. JOSEPH’S 1: Hannah Thornberg scored two goals for Endicott (6-2) in a win at Standish. The Monks (6-3) got their lone goal as Theresa Hendrix assisted Carly Denis.

COLBY 8, THOMAS 0: Misha Strage scored her first two collegiate goals in the first half as the Mules (3-3) beat the Terriers (2-6) in Waterville.

Erin Maguire had a goal and two assists for Colby, while Erika Johnson, Caitlin Guiney, Lucy Gerrity, Lauren Zion and Kaitlyn O’Connell also scored.
