BATH — Karen Johnson’s sea glass jewelry business, All Washed Up, is open for business.

Conveniently located next to the Maine Maritime Museum at 237 Washington St. in Bath, All Washed Up is a new addition to Bath’s art scene.

According to a news release, Johnson is in her 10th year using designs that make her sterling silver and sea glass pieces unique — no two are ever the same.

However, Johnson doesn’t know how long she can keep making jewelry, saying, “When I run out of sea glass, I’m out of business. So it’s a good thing I began collecting before sea glass got so popular. I find all my own glass, but there is very little on the beaches now.”

“We are glad to be back in the Midcoast area. I expect to see some old friends, as well as meet new neighbors in my little shop.”

Johnson lived in Harpswell and taught in Woolwich, so she is familiar with the area. She and her husband, Greg, also an artist, create their artworks in the 1850s house in Bath they are remodeling, supervised by their dog, Poco.

KAREN JOHNSON’S SHOP, All Washed Up, is located near the Maine Maritime Museum in Bath. Her telephone number is 263-4815.
