HARPSWELL — In preparation for the summer season, Harpswell Art and Craft Guild members recently gathered at Steve’s — A Photo Gallery & More in the Captain Morrill House on Orr’s Island to bundle thousands of pieces of promotional literature for distribution throughout the Mid-coast area.

According to a news release, this year’s 2012 directory lists current contact information and business hours for more than 20 guild members. The “Celebrate Summer in Harpswell” brochure includes a new map and a listing of special events and weekend offerings taking place at studios, shops and restaurants in 30 different locations on Harpswell Neck, Great Island, Cundy’s Harbor, and Orr’s and Bailey islands between 8 a.m. and 8 p.m. during the weekend of July 14 and 15.

Many guild members have already restocked their galleries and studios and are open for the season. This year several guild members are also exhibiting at the Five Rivers Arts Alliance Second Friday ArtWalks.

Both the directory and “Celebrate Summer” brochures are available at the ArtWalks and in many locations throughout Harpswell and Brunswick. Information is also available online at www.harpswellartandcraftguild.com or on Facebook.
