BRUNSWICK — Dragon’s Eye Ventures is launching a new summer program for the 9- to 12-year-old age group on the Bowdoin College campus this July and August.
According to a news release, the program offers “mythical expeditions for mavens of mystery.”
“Mavens of mystery are master detectives,” said Rebecca McNulty, founder and director of Dragon’s Eye Ventures. “They are sleuths who follow a trail of clues to unlock the secrets that unravel the mystery at the heart of the story.”
Each Dragon’s Eye adventure begins as a story revolving around a myth or legend drawn from various cultures and times. An adventure unfolds throughout each week-long session. Art projects augment the story, and each project enters the game as a magical artifact that helps the detectives solve the case.
McNulty started the Dragon’s Eye program in 1989 with the first of more than 50 adventures. This is the program’s first launch in Midcoast
Maine.
“I hope to expand the program to offer adventures for all ages,” said McNulty. “I’ll be training other adults to lead a summer program for younger children, and will be offering programs for adults in the coming year.”
