BATH — Jean Libby of Bath Savings Institution has been named Volunteer of the Year by the Yarmouth Chamber of Commerce.
According to a news release, Libby is an active member of the chamber, serving on the Boast ’n’ Toast committee and the committee responsible for the Spirit of Excellence Program. It was also noted that Libby is quick to volunteer her time, equipment and banking expertise to support chamber events, such as the Yarmouth Clam Festival, or assist other nonprofit organizations in the area.
“She is a valuable asset to the chamber in so many ways,” said Carolyn Schuster, executive director at the Yarmouth Chamber of Commerce. “I hope she knows how grateful we are for all she does to support the chamber.”
Bath Savings Institution applauds Libby for her commitment to the community and for demonstrating the spirit behind BSI’s Neighbor to Neighbor philosophy.

We believe it's important to offer commenting on certain stories as a benefit to our readers. At its best, our comments sections can be a productive platform for readers to engage with our journalism, offer thoughts on coverage and issues, and drive conversation in a respectful, solutions-based way. It's a form of open discourse that can be useful to our community, public officials, journalists and others.
We do not enable comments on everything — exceptions include most crime stories, and coverage involving personal tragedy or sensitive issues that invite personal attacks instead of thoughtful discussion.
