BOWDOIN — Andrew J. Klaiber, 45, of Meadow Rd. Topsham, died unexpectedly on December 31, 2011.

Andrew was born in Waterville on June 24, 1966, a son of Harold and Jean Klaiber. He was educated in local schools graduating from Waterville High in 1986 and going on to Kennebec Valley Vocational Technical Institute where he received a degree in Building Construction Technology in 1987.

Andrew married Kelly Drouin on February 20 1988, and together they moved to Topsham where they raised their beautiful daughter Kristin. He worked at Bath Iron Works for nearly 25 years as a designer. Andrew found the most passion from designing and creating his own home and various things for family and friends. He loved to fish and be outdoors especially riding his snowmobiles or four wheeler at his families camp in Lily Bay. He always looked forward to the yearly trip to Sunset Beach, North Carolina with his family.

Andrew will be remembered for having a soft spot when it came to his beloved dogs.

Andrew is survived by his loving wife of 23 years Kelly and their daughter Kristin and her Fiance Christoper Koch, his father Harold Klaiber of Waterville, brothers Clyde and wife Kelly of Oakland, Paul and wife Carol of Pawtuckett, RI. Mother and Father in- Law Paula and Bud Richards of Winslow, Sister in Law Ronda and her husband Phil Connolly of Burnham, Brother in Law Lee and his wife Mary Drouin of Troy and Sister in Law Lynn Richards also of Troy. Niece Heidi and her husband Charlie Judkins of Cannan, as well as many other special nieces, nephews and friends.

Andy was predeceased by his mother Jean Klaiber and sister Ruthanne Klaiber. In lieu of flowers donations can be made in Andrew’s memory to the Coastal Humane Society 30 Range Road, Brunswick, ME 04011 or Big Brother Big Sisters of Bath/Brunswick, 85 Maine Street Brunswick, ME 04011- 2014

Visitation will be held at the Veilleux Funeral Home 8 Elm St. Waterville, Maine on Friday January 6, 2012 from 2-4 and 6-8. A funeral service will be held on Saturday, January 7 at 2 pm at the First Congregational Church 7 Eustis Parkway Waterville, ME 04901.
