COLUMBUS, GA — Robert Howard Vaughan, 91, of Columbus, GA, died Friday, December 9, 2011 at his home of 53 years, surrounded by his family. Robert had summered in Small Point, Maine, with his wife, Mary Percy, and family since their marriage in 1945.

Born in Tuskegee, Alabama, to Mary Howard and Henry Asa Vaughan, Robert attended Tuskegee High School and the University of Alabama, and graduated from Harvard Medical School in 1943, after which he served as a lieutenant, US Navy.
