WESTBROOK – Road crews are expected to begin paving William Clarke Drive this week, as soon as the rain stops.

“As soon as the weather breaks, I’m sure they’ll be out there paving,” said City Engineer Eric Dudley.

The road will not be closed, Dudley said, but lanes will be shut down while the work is going on, and drivers should plan accordingly. The work is part of the final stages of a major state-run renovation of the roadway, which began this spring. Dudley said he did not know exactly how long the paving would take.
